Kimi Raikkonen is a doubt for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix with a potential leg injury, according to Motorsport.com in Italy, clearing up the reason Marcus Ericsson is in Belgium this weekend.

The Swede, who is Alfa's reserve driver, has been called up to the team, with the reason originally believed to be a switch move for Antonio Giovinazzi, but Alfa Romeo swiftly denied these rumours.

Ericsson has been released from his drive in IndyCar with Arrow SPM this weekend, being replaced by Conor Daly for the round in Portland.

After much confusion, it seems to have been confirmed that Ericsson is at Spa as back up in case Raikkonen is not fit enough to race. At the moment it seems that the Finn will take part in FP1, but if he feels he cannot complete the weekend then the former Caterham and Sauber driver will take the seat.

It is unsure how Raikkonen picked up the supposed leg injury.
