BREAKING: Albon takes engine penalties - will start last in Belgium!
Alex Albon will begin his first race for Red Bull at the back of the grid after he was forced to take engine penalties ahead of the race.
Albon completed a switch to Red Bull over the summer break, with Pierre Gasly moving back to Toro Rosso in the opposite direction.
Honda have announced their new spec-4 engine for this weekend, which Albon and Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat will be running.
As part of the switch, Albon takes over Gasly's number of spare parts used this season, which is already over the limits allowed in the regulations, therefore handing Albon several penalties, meaning he will likely make his Red Bull debut from last on the grid.
Only Albon and Kvyat will take the new spec-4 engine this weekend, and if all goes well, Max Verstappen and Gasly will run the engines next weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.
Honda F1 boss Toyoharu Tanabe added in his race preview: "Our performance gradually improved over the races immediately prior to the break and both our teams were competitive.
"We aim to carry that momentum forward into the next part of the season achieving further improvements."
