Hamilton: "I'm living the best season of my career"
- Tom Mason
Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he thinks he's currently having his best season as he currently sits 65 points ahead of his nearest challenger, teammate, Valtteri Bottas. The Brit has eight wins so far this season although he was unable to produce a victory last weekend as he was forced to settle for a second-place finish in Belgium.
The grid heads to Monza this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari's home race which will prove tough to win given the characteristics of the track.
"I think I am experiencing the best season of my career - Hamilton said - I have never had such a consistent performance during the year. Maybe there were a couple of races where I didn't go too well, but in general, I was very consistent," Hamilton said to Sky Sports.
"Considering also that the car did not at times seem the strongest, in reality, it has improved a lot and the team is very happy, but it becomes more and more difficult while going towards the final part of the championship."
The Brit is going for his sixth world title after winning the Championship previously in 2008,2014,2015,2017 and 2018.
