"It will be difficult to overtake Ferrari and Mercedes, but 5th is possible"
Max Verstappen finished seventh and fifth in the two free practice sessions in Italy today. He would have hoped to have done better but the Red Bull driver is positive about how the day went.
"It was a good day," says Verstappen on his own website. “Despite the fact that we still lack top speed on the straight, we still seem quite competitive. Both the short and the long runs seemed pretty good and that is of course also important for Sunday, as we will start at the back. ”
“The car did very well and everything went smoothly in the motor area. That is therefore always positive. At least I'm looking forward to Sunday. It will be difficult to overtake Ferrari and Mercedes, but a fifth-place should normally be possible."
Verstappen will start the Italian Grand Prix at the back of the grid and will be hoping to try and finish in the points on Sunday.
