Perez blames wet Pirelli tyres: "They don't offer any grip"
Not for the first time this season, Sergio Perez crashed while driving with the wet tyres during first practice ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. The Mexican blames the Pirelli tyres for his spin at Monza.
“When you lose the back, it becomes a difficult story to keep the car on the road. Even if you only slip a little, you lose control," the Mexican explains in a conversation with Motorsport-total.com.
According to the experienced driver, it is partly due to the Pirelli rain tires. “They don't offer any grip, they can't be warmed up. It was very difficult today to get the temperature up. They are also slightly different than before."
Lance Stroll confirms the story of his teammate. According to the Canadian, the tyres offer almost no grip and it was very smooth in FP1. "I'm not sure what Pirelli is doing, but I can remember that it was much better in 2017," says Stroll
