Haas don't expect to solve tyre issue during 2019 F1 season
Only Mercedes having seemingly been able to manage the 2019 Formula 1 tyres across all races this season. Haas are one of those teams that have struggled to get the tyres in the optimum operating window as they experience a significantly worse season in comparison to 12 months ago.
Haas recorded their third straight failure to score points from a Grand Prix weekend in Italy. The American team only sit ahead of Williams in the Formula 1 world championship after chasing Renault for fourth place last year.
The team have applied numerous changes, but nothing has seemed to benefit either Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen. Team boss Guenther Steiner doesn't expect the problems to be solved until after the 2019 Formula 1 season.
“At the moment this is our struggle. We will try to get solutions to it as soon as possible to see if we can better it. I think we understand, but I don’t know if we can get solutions this year," Steiner is quoted by Motorsport.com.
“But racing like this, it kills you. Everyone knows how I like to race, and this is something [else]. You go out with new tyres, the tyres work for two laps then the temperatures go down and you are done again. We are always so on the edge with everything that a little thing happens and we are gone. The drop off is not a tenth or two, it is drop off that can mean a second."
