Honda and Red Bull focus on starting issue: "Must solve that together"
Yasuaki Asagi, power unit development manager at Honda, has put more light on the updates featured in the new-spec engine. He confirmed the starting problems which have hampered Max Verstappen, has the majority of focus in the factory.
"In the first half of the season, we mainly wanted to improve performance during qualifications. I wanted to do something about that. Recently it was the starting problems. I told them to solve it together," Asagi told AutosportWeb.
The Japanese also indicates what the latest engine specification brings compared to the previous version. "With the Spec-3 engine, we mostly worked on the turbo and its reliability. In addition, we have also found many good solutions for working at great heights. For the Spec-4, the focus has been on the ICE and the combustion engine. We wanted to increase the average output of horsepower and we succeeded," says Asagi.
