Pirelli announce tyre choice for Russian Grand Prix
It is the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend but immediately after that is the Russian Grand Prix. For that race, Pirelli has now announced the tires that the drivers will use.
There are no surprises in the tyre choice of the top drivers. Max Verstappen, Alexander Albon, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc have all chosen the same sets. All four of them only take one hard compound, three mediums and nine softs.
Mercedes is taking one less set of soft tyre which gives Hamilton an extra medium tyre and Bottas an extra hard tyre.
The midfield teams are all very similar as well. Renault, Haas, Alfa Romeo and Racing Point are the most aggressive, with ten sets of the soft tyre. They only take two sets of the yellow medium tyre and one set of white hard tyres. Raikkonen only has one medium set at his disposal.
For Russian Grand Prix in Sochi, Pirelli have chosen the C2, C3 and C4 tyre options, which is the middle trio of rubber. Here is a breakdown of the teams tyre selections:
