Robert Kubica is on the radar as a potential reserve driver for several teams
Robert Kubica confirmed in the build-up to the Singapore Grand Prix that he will not race for Williams during the 2019 Formula 1 season. But according to several reports, Kubica is expected to sign as a reserve driver.
According to the Polish media, one of Racing Point's sponsors was visiting PKN Orlen, the major sponsor which is responsible for Kubica's return to Formula 1 after his crash.
As well as this, Haas team boss Guenther Steiner has expressed his interest in signing the talents of Kubica. With Haas unsure about developments, they could be helped by having an experienced driver in the simulator.
"Of course we are interested in him. I have never worked with him, but he has a very good reputation when it comes to the knowledge of the car. A number of engineers in our team have worked with him and they all have a lot of respect for him," Steiner told Polish site Przeglad Sportowy.
"We are certainly interested in him, but I don't know if he wants to come to us. If it's available, I'll definitely talk to him."
