Max Verstappen doesn't want to see the sprint race which Liberty Media plan to bring in to determine the starting grid for the 2021 season. The Dutchman calls the idea "nonsense".

The plan will be tested during the 2020 season, before a full introduction during the rules and regulation overhaul in 2021. The Aston Martin Red Bull Racing driver believes the current qualifying system is fair and therefore should be continued.

“I think everyone should get a fair chance to qualify as well as possible. That is where you deserve to start," Verstappen told Motorsport.com.

High-profile drivers Charles Leclerc, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton have also demonstrated their disapproval of the idea during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend.
