Problems at Haas remind Romain Grosjean of 2014 with Lotus
Haas are having a difficult season and Romain Grosjean has described the issues as feeling similar to what his former team, Lotus, experienced in 2014. The car has some serious flaws that they will be hoping to fix in time for next season.
In 2014 Lotus finished the season 8th in the constructor's championship and struggled with their car throughout the season.
“I was told in January of that year (2014) that the car was good enough to fight for the title. I really believed that ... But it turned out not to be the case," Grosjean said to media in Sochi."They understood the problems and worked on them, so things went much better in 2015."
Grosjean has faced the same issues with Haas this season but will hope that things improve for next season.
"In this case too, we are trying to understand and want to do better in the future," he said.
“What we were struggling with right now was that up to Budapest it was a very big difference in what we saw on the circuit and in the wind tunnel. It was only by that time that everyone could agree that there were major correlation problems."
Haas believe that there is an aerodynamic issue with their car which is what is causing the issues with the tyres. They will continue to work on the problem and develop a fast car for the 2020 season.
