Mercedes completed an unexpected one-two victory at the Russian Grand Prix after problems within the Ferrari team, Lewis Hamilton capitalised to claim his first win in four races. As a result, the team can now win the constructors' championship at the next race in Japan in a couple of weeks.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff felt that the win for his team was won which was lost by Ferrari after their problems.

" Fortune? I don't know, but someone wrote one day that it's better to be lucky than to work a lot.

"In our sport, luck goes against you once and the other goes in your favour.

"Today we had a strategy of going long to hope for the Safety Car and the Safety Car arrived.

Mercedes have been up against it in recent weeks with Ferrari winning the past three races, including the first win of the season for Sebastian Vettel last weekend.

"I'm always pessimistic and we saw yesterday that Ferrari had a car that goes very fast.

From a performance standpoint, it is what we lack on our machine.

For the one on the card, they lost a victory and we earned it ".
