Hulkenberg expecting future to be confirmed in "another few weeks"
Nico Hulkenberg says that he expects his future to be confirmed in a "few weeks", with his options closing as the F1 grid for next season gets closer to completion.
There are just a few seats left on the grid for next seasonand it looks incresibly likely that Hulkenberg's decade long stay could be coming to an end after Renault decided to replace him with Esteban Ocon for 2020.
There has been widespread concern for Hulkenberg's F1 future, with Williams the only other realistic option for the German, who said in Russia: "Ideally it would all be done now, and we move on, but it’s not done yet. I think it’s a matter of another few weeks.
"I don’t think it will take that much longer to be honest, so obviously the sooner the better, it’s good for everyone to have clarity but as of now it’s nothing yet."
There have been links floating around linking Hulkenberg to Formula E, with the former Williams, Force India and Sauber driver not denying the rumours: "We’ll see, I don’t know yet. Hopefully in a couple of weeks’ time we’ll have clearance about that. But as of now it’s not decided, not confirmed.
"I heard that there were people coming, or wanting to talk, via friends and stuff, of people we know in common. But I haven’t pursued that yet."
