Binotto proud of Ferrari design: "Everyone tries to imitate us"
Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have had one hand on each of the F1 world championship trophies for some time now. But following the summer break, Ferrari have had a surge in results by winning three consecutive races.
Mercedes are focusing on next year's car while Mattia Binotto believes improving the current car and keeping a similar concept during the winter will be beneficial to the Italians. This is made possible because there are no major rule changes.
"The rules will nevertheless remain the same, so we might as well put as much as possible on the car so that we can immediately understand the innovations," the Ferrari team boss told motorsport.com.
Ferrari's front wing has already attracted a great deal of attention. Even though Mercedes dominated in the early stages of the season, Binotto backed the Ferrari design.
"Everyone tries to imitate us, so I think we did well. The car will therefore not be a revolution in 2020, but rather an evolution of the current car," the Italian concludes.
