Max Verstappen jokes about the weather: "Get the speedboats ready"
The typhoon Hagibis is almost certain to disrupt the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. Max Verstappen joked at the press conference that the officials should have "the speedboat ready" is the rain falls too heavily.
Verstappen didn't seem too worried about the weather and is confident that the organizers of the Grand Prix will sort something out and the race will go ahead.
“At the moment it seems unlikely that we can drive on Saturday," Verstappen said. "Then we have a little more free time that Saturday and we get up a little earlier on Sunday."
The weather has altered the structure of a Formula 1 weekend before at the 2015 American Grand Prix and Japan has a history of bad weather. Organizers will manage the situation well to try and limit disruption.
