Kubica looks back at a difficult weekend in Japan
- Tom Mason
Robert Kubica once again found it tough this weekend, finishing in 19th place in Japan. The Polish driver has had it difficult this season, picking up just one point to date.
Kubica ran a two-stop race, pitting on laps 22 and 33 going for the hard tyres in his first stop before electing for the medium tyres in the final stop.
"It was not the qualifying session that I had hoped for in Suzuka. I accelerated to open the lap, but the rear wheel off the track and then the wall came very quickly. Unfortunately, it was a high price for a small off, to end my qualifying session, " Kubica said in Williams's post-race report.
"The guys have done another amazing job (to get the car ready), they are a great group of people. I appreciate their work, not only today but throughout the season.
"This is not an easy sport, especially in these conditions. The race was difficult as you would expect and overall, it was a pretty disappointing Sunday."
