Lewis Hamilton may have topped the standings in FP1 but it was Sebastian Vettel who took the lead going into Saturday after a confident display in FP2. How will the final session before qualifying unfold?

What happened on Friday?

Lewis Hamilton's weekend got off to a perfect start as he topped the timesheets in FP1, narrowly beating out Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Hamilton can win his sixth Formula 1 crown this weekend if he beats Valtteri Bottas by 14 points.

Nicholas Latifi got some more time in the cockpit of Williams but he finished a second behind his teammate. From a Williams reserve driver to a Williams driver of the past, Lance Stroll brought out the red flag in FP1 but was still able to set some laps at the end.

FP2 was very much Sebastian Vettel's session as he beat Max Verstappen to top the timesheets on Friday evening. It was a different story for Mercedes as they finished fourth and fifth, over half a second down on their rivals.

Alex Albon brought out the red flag once again but this time his session came to an abrupt end. He smashed into the barriers at turn seven and caused a lengthy delay as the marshalls recovered his car.
