Max Verstappen: "Last year we couldn't compete in every race"
Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing had a strong 2019 season and the Dutch racer has said he's no longer happy to be racing in the midfield and that he wants to be racing for the win at every Grand Prix in 2020.
"We are trying to do better this season," said Verstappen to Sky Sports F1. "Of course we want to start the title. Last year we couldn't compete in every race, but now we have to do as much as possible in all races get points. I just hope that from this year on we will fight for the podium at least every time, in the worst case we'll be third."
One area that Red Bull need to improve on is starting the season as well as they finish it. They will be hoping to really impress from the first round and keep up their momentum over the season.
The 2020 rules largely remain the same and Verstappen believes that this will help the team.
“It is good for the entire team [that the rules remain unchanged]. We now just have to get the best out of it and ensure that we have worked the hardest during the winter. We will then find out during the winter tests whether we have also improved the most.”
Red Bull will hope to challenge Ferrari and Mercedes for the title.
