Lewis Hamilton on his father: "Family is the most important thing in the world"
Lewis Hamilton and his father Anthony have had a rollercoaster of a relationship with each other. Without his dad, there is no doubt that the Mercedes driver wouldn't have got to where he is and they have repaired the fractions that came about when business came before family in the political side of the sport.
"Our journey hasn't been an easy one," said Mercedes driver Hamilton on social media.
"Over time, we lost that father-son bond and it has been something we have both wanted back for so long."

The six-time world champion said: "The past couple years we've been growing closer and this winter break I asked my dad to come visit me so we could spend some time together, just us.
"We haven't done this before, so to finally get to spend quality time with him has brought me so much happiness.
"Family is the most important thing in the world. You can't choose your family but you can make it work with them no matter what your differences. They are the ones that will be there when you have nothing."
Hamilton will hope that clearing the air will help him when he is off the track and that he can get some more support from those closest to him.
The Brit goes into the 2020 season looking to match Michael Schumacher's all-time record of seven world titles. He will hope that his fathers support will help him succeed and reach this incredible achievement.
