Mercedes announces five-year deal with new sponsor INEOS
Mercedes is showing their new livery for the Formula 1 season 2020 today, which, thanks to their collaboration with new sponsor INEOS, will probably look different than before. Moreover, it is a collaboration for the future, because INEOS will remain involved with the team for the time being.
The chemical company, which is also active as a sponsor in cycling and sailing, has committed itself to the Mercedes team for five years. According to CEO of INEOS Jim Ratcliff, it is not surprising that they have chosen Mercedes and Formula 1.
“We really have a passion for sports, as you can see from the other sports we are involved in. Formula 1 is the most exciting sport in the world. It is very similar to our involvement in the Americas cup, which is also very technologically advanced."

Mercedes and INEOS have the same ambition
Ratcliff praises the success and technologically advanced character of Mercedes and Wolff, and agrees that this shared passion has been the main reason for their collaboration.
“It's a new chapter for us. What brings us together is ambition and competitiveness. I noticed that the first time I met Jim. We share the passion for competitive sport, you see that in cycling and also in sailing."
“We participate for the long term. The team offers a great platform for our marketing, also to show our hybrid technology. We actually want to emphasize that even more."
