Ocon: "I feel ready for the challenge"
Esteban Ocon has lost time to make up for when he returns to Formula 1 full time in 2020 and he has admitted he can't wait to get started at pre-season testing.
Ocon was replaced by Lance Stroll at Racing Point when Stroll's father, Lawrence bought the team. He subsequently returned to Mercedes and completed the 2019 season as their reserve driver.
Midway through the season, the Frenchman was confirmed to be joining Renault for the 2020 season. He had the opportunity to take part in post-season testing in Abu Dhabi and he'll get to test his 2020 challenger in Barcelona.
Having spent a year out of competing full time in the pinnacle of motorsport, Ocon is looking forward to getting back in the cockpit.
"I already know a part of the team, but a lot has changed since I left in 2016," Ocon told Crash.net.
"Things are evolving very fast in Formula 1 and everything at Renault has grown a lot. I think it will help me to settle quickly and be ready for the first race.
"It's very exciting and I can't wait to test the new car in Barcelona. We have had a lot of time to prepare and I feel ready for the challenge."
