Renault have a plan in regards to 2021 development

2021 may seem like a distant thought for teams at the moment but with only one season before the regulation changes, teams will be putting plans in place for their development.

The 2021 regulation changes are seen as Liberty Media's first opportunity to stamp their mark on the pinnacle of motorsport. The regulations were confirmed last October and teams will start preparing for them half-way through this season.

Renault's team executive Marcin Budkowski has revealed the team have plans in place but deciding when to start development for next season has been a dilemma for all the teams.

"I think it is going to be a big dilemma," Budkowski said as quoted by Motorsport.com. 

"I think it is going to be a big dilemma for everybody.

"We have a plan, I am sure everybody has, and that plan is to shorten development into the season. It is not less development it is just more concentrated development."

"It is easy to say this now because the season hasn’t started, but at the front, it could be quite interesting if the top three are fighting for the championship and it’s going to be a close fight."
