Australian Grand Prix in doubt due to Coronavirus outbreak
The Australian Grand Prix is now under threat due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus. The Chinese Grand Prix has already been cancelled but the 2020 season opener is now also in doubt.
Moving a Formula 1 team and all the equipment to a Grand Prix is a big job and it's not only all the stuff that has to travel but also a large number of people. The worry is that people traveling from all over the world could spread the virus all around the globe.
"Australia does not want to allow people coming via Singapore or Hong Kong to enter the country," Helmut Marko tells the Austrian television station ORF.
"The ultimate impact of the virus cannot be predicted," concludes the Red Bull Racing adviser.
Other Grand Prix's are also in doubt. The Vietnam Grand Prix is under threat due to the outbreak of the virus in the country and the disease has also been found in Bahrain.
Nothing has been officially confirmed, we will let you know if the story develops.
