Daniel Ricciardo "will answer calls" but wants it to work with Renault
Daniel Ricciardo has said that he will look elsewhere at the end of the season but really wants it to work with Renault. The Aussie's move to the French team has not been as successful as he would have hoped and the Honey Badger wants to get back to winning races.
"I will answer calls, for sure," said Ricciardo to Sky Sports. "But I most importantly want this to work.
"I don't want it to feel like I've just come to Renault, got away from Red Bull and then I'm just looking for the next best thing. I really want to make this happen and make it work.
"Hopefully [we] get enough out of it that the journey continues beyond my two-year contract," he added. "That's the ideal scenario. To talk about other what-ifs, and the future, it's still too early, you don't want to rock the boat."
It sounds like Ricciardo will assess the situation later on in the season and see what the landscape looks like in terms of driving for a different team next season.
