Verstappen has his eyes on the biggest prize this season
Max Verstappen may still only be 22, but the Dutchman is setting his standards high in 2020. The Red Bull driver has admitted it is all about the title this season for him.
In 2019 Verstappen enjoyed his best season in the pinnacle of motorsport, winning three races as well as achieving his first pole position. He finished third in the Drivers' Championship behind just the Mercedes duo, but he is targeting a lot more in 2020.
Speaker to Reuters, Verstappen explained how it is all about the title this year, but insisted the lure of being the youngest champion isn't something he will look back on in the years to come.
“For me it's all about winning this season," Verstappen said.
"We want to fight for the title. If that means I'm the youngest, that's great, but it's not a record I will look back on in 20 years.
“If it doesn't work out, I'm just out of luck. Hopefully I still have 15-20 years to win a few. A lot of people start talking about being the youngest driver in Formula 1, but I don't care about records like that."
