Daniel Ricciardo praises Lewis Hamilton's ability to perform under pressure
Daniel Ricciardo believes that Lewis Hamilton would still be successful even if he wasn't in the fastest car in Formula 1. The Aussie believes that it is the Brits ability to perform under pressure that has led to his achievements over the years.
“Where a lot of people don’t give Lewis his due is that while he’s had the best car for the past few years and maybe he’s had it easier than others, his teammates have as well, and he’s gone out and delivered,” Ricciardo said to the Sydney Morning Herald.
“I can relate to some of what Lewis goes through because I’ve fought for wins, but I can’t relate to everything – I’ve not been to Abu Dhabi for the last race with the title on the line and he has, and most times he’s come out on top.
“To deal with that kind of constant pressure, that in itself makes you a strong character. I respect that 100 percent, and you can’t take that away from him.”
Hamilton has the opportunity to draw level with Michael Schumacher's all-time driver world championship record this season. He is still hungry for success and it is hard to see anyone beat him this season.
