Leclerc reveals who he thinks is the best Formula 1 driver of all time
- GPblog.com
The discussion about who was the best Formula 1 driver ever is one that will never end. Charles Leclerc has now also put his money where his mouth is.
For many young drivers the Formula 1 drivers of that moment are their great example. The small racers of this moment will look up to Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and other high-profile names.
During his youth Charles Leclerc looked up to the dominant Michael Schumacher. "He was the hero of Ferrari for me, as for many others I think. I was young when he won a lot, but it was still very impressive. Every time I looked at Formula 1, I paid particular attention to Ferrari and Michael", says the Monegask in a Q&A on Ferrari's Twitter channel.
The best F1 driver
Yet the seven-time world champion is not the best Formula 1 driver of all time in the eyes of Leclerc. That honour goes to Ayrton Senna. "He was a person I really look up to. He had a lot of talent, but he also worked very hard. Put those two things together and it made him the best."
Once the young Ferrari driver wants to be in the same row as his examples, but now he knows what he needs for that. "Patience is something that's very important and I've had trouble with that in the past. But at Ferrari I've learned that I need it", concludes the Monegask.
