Before the Netherlands suspended all major events until 1 September, the Belgian government already came up with a similar measure. However, sports events did not yet fall under this decision. The outcome has now been postponed for another week.

Where in the Netherlands it has become clear that the Eredivisie season will not be finished and the Dutch Grand Prix will have to wait at least until September, it is still unclear what they will do in Belgium. There is still a chance that at the end of August there will be a race on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit

The decision has been postponed by the National Safety Council by one week on Friday evening, as is reported by Algemeen Dagblad. Originally, the football competitions would meet next Monday to discuss the course of the rest of the season, but that meeting will also be postponed for a week.

The organisation of the Belgian Grand Prix is very much taking into account that their race will at least have to be held without an audience and may not take place at all. Last week it announced that ticket sales have been stopped immediately.
