After a lengthy investigation into the legality of the 2019 Ferrari engines, the FIA decided to close the case with a secret agreement with the Italian manufacturer. This outcome was announced at the end of the second test week in Barcelona and the other teams were furious. That story still needs to be resolved.

In the week after the last day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, Formula 1 talked about almost nothing. What was in the secret agreement between the FIA and Ferrari and how is it possible that a lack of transparency is allowed in this case? These were the two main questions that also prevailed with the other teams.

Shortly after that the news was completely taken over by the corona crisis and all its consequences. However, now that the season is finally about to begin, the discussion around the secret deal between the FIA and Ferrari can be restarted. Helmut Marko, among others, hasn't finished it yet.

Teams especially want more transparency

"In the end, unfortunately, we had to deal with other things because of Corona. But that doesn't mean we won't get involved with the FIA and Ferrari when everything goes back to normal", said the Austrian of Red Bull Racing against Sport1.de.

Marko can count on the support of Cyril Abiteboul and Andreas Seidl of Renault and McLaren respectively. They argue that the issue is not yet settled and had hoped for more transparency.
