Mercedes came into action on Tuesday and Wednesday at Silverstone to test. They did this in the W09 from 2018, since it is not allowed to test with the cars of the current season. On Tuesday Valtteri Bottas got into the car and on Wednesday it was Lewis Hamilton's turn. In a new video, Mercedes once again clearly explains what they have done.

Mercedes wanted to experience and test what it's like to work with all the safety regulations now in place to prevent corona spread. That logically means mouth caps, keeping more distance, fewer people in the garage and so on. In many situations it is quite possible to keep enough distance, but as soon as the car has to be tinkered with that is more difficult.

They have now been able to experience and test this extensively, so that they have practiced all protocols before they start in Austria on 5 July. As a result, they are sure that they are well prepared to start the season without any risk, says Andrew Shovlin of Mercedes in the following video.
