Where Mercedes and Ferrari announced that they were going to test with an old car before the new season, Red Bull Racing remained silent. When it became known that Renault was also going to get some mileage in on the Red Bull Ring, it raised many eyebrows, especially those of Helmut Marko.

The Austrian advisor to Red Bull Racing and the head of the Red Bull junior program is still a competitive man at the age of 77. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that it hasn't clashed between Red Bull and Renault for some years now, but Marko was not happy with the news that Renault was allowed to test on the Red Bull home circuit.

"It was a great achievement of the organization in Spielberg that they rented the track to a rival team", says the man from Graz cynically to Speedweek.com. "Let's just say it was a generous gesture."

The track in Spielberg is called the Red Bull Ring because it is owned by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz. The organization operates completely independent of the Formula 1 team. However, Marko had apparently hoped for a little more loyalty.
