In the remaining six months that we have in 2020, there will probably be at least 15 Grands Prix. This will not only cause the necessary logistical problems, but also the employees of the Formula 1 teams will have a tough six months ahead of them. Mercedes is also well aware of that.

"Racing will remain more or less the same," the team writes in a statement through the official channels. The German world champion argues that the changed calendar in the pinnacle of motorsport will not have much impact on the development programme drawn up at the beginning of 2020. Maximum available capacity is currently being worked at the Brackley factory.

What will be especially different for the race stables in Formula 1 is the fact that employees will be travelling a lot and will not be able to go home in between because of the strict corona restrictions. So the colleagues are sometimes stuck together for up to a month on the paddock and in hotels with strict safety standards.

Mercedes knows it takes a lot

"The revised calendar has much more impact on the staff than on the car itself," said Mercedes, who expects that especially the triple-headers will be tough. "We're aware that we're asking a lot of our people."
