Mercedes had a difficult weekend at the Red Bull Ring for the past two years. In 2018 mistakes were made at the pit stop and in both years the team suffered from cooling problems. Lewis Hamilton assumes that these have now been remedied.

The cooling problems at Mercedes occurred precisely in Austria because this race is held in the middle of summer and at a relatively high altitude. It is therefore not only very hot, but because of the thin air the combustion engine also gets less oxygen to function optimally.

"We haven't been terribly bad here, but it's a challenging circuit with the altitude and temperatures we see here," Hamilton said at the press conference in Austria to Autosport.com among others.

"In previous years the conditions were usually not within the window of operational temperatures for our car. But I think we are in a better position this year with the improvements we have made for this season's car. But time will tell."
