Helmut Marko and Christian Horner are both very disappointed after the dramatic Austrian GP for the Red Bull Racing team. Marko called the result 'shocking' while his colleague, Horner, finds the word 'cruel' coming out of his mouth.

"This is very shocking," Marko said in front of ORF's camera. The Red Bull advisor hoped to take the race to Mercedes, but because of a touch between Alexander Albon and Lewis Hamilton and technical problems it didn't work out. Why did Verstappen have to stop the fight so early? "It has something to do with the electronics. That's all we know now."

Sunday is one to quickly forget for Red Bull

Horner was also very disappointed by the two DNF's on the Red Bull Ring. "Sometimes this sport is pretty cruel. Today was one of those days. Alex drove a great race. He didn't deserve this," the British boss said at Sky Sports.

In the Red Bull interview, Horner went into the course of the race in more detail. "It was a very frustrating first race, I have almost no words for it. Losing Max early while he was in second place on a better tyre was clearly painful, but we still had Alex in a good position."

Horner on Hamilton

After a safety car, Red Bull took the risk to bring Albon in and put it on soft tyres. That choice turned out to be a strategic masterstroke. "At the restart Alex passed Lewis and for the second time in three races, Lewis inexplicably hit him and nocked him out of the race. It was clearly a misjudgement from Lewis for which he was also punished, but Alex has nothing to gain from that," Horner concluded.
