Mercedes hasn't solved the problem yet: ''It's very complex''

Mercedes suffered a lot from the gearbox during the Austrian Grand Prix. There were so many problems that both drivers had to drive more quietly. However, the problem during the last Grand Prix hasn't been solved yet.
"We've got some people at the factory working on this day and night. While the Grand Prix was taking place, they were already doing their utmost to try to understand what the problems were to get ahead of the issue before we start this week", says James Vowles in the latest video from Mercedes.
Mercedes still in trouble
"We know that if we don't solve these problems, in a few days it will be a problem again. However, it is a complex problem that can cause both cars to stop. We didn't just solve it and we have to investigate it properly. We did that last week and we're still doing it'', it doesn't sound very convincing.
''All we know now is that there are electrical elements of the gearboxes that are suffering and we need to do more to get them through a Grand Prix. The problem itself in the gearbox is electric by nature and the reality is that we now have a few days to solve this problem'', concludes Vowles.
