Sebastian Vettel admitted at an earlier stage that there had been talks with Racing Point, but the 33-year-old driver hasn't made a decision yet. At first glance, a switch to the British race team now seems fantastic, but Vettel wants to be one hundred percent convinced of his next step in Formula 1.

"At the moment you look and it looks probably great," says Vettel about Racing Point to Martin Brundle for an interview with Sky Sports. However, the four-time world champion knows that that doesn't say it all. “But I think I’ve been around for such a long time that you try to obviously look beyond that in terms of seeing what might form up and what might not form up along the grid.”

For the current Ferrari rider that's not very easy to determine. “I’m not part of that team and I don’t know the inside, the exact plans and so on", Vettel continues.

Vettel doesn't go to team in midfield

The options seem to be further limited for Vettel, as the Heppenheimer does not want to move to a team that acts in midfield. "I have achieved a lot and I’m willing to achieve more. If you sign for a team that is really out of range, then probably that answers your question. I want to win"
