Weather forecast GP of Spain: Advantage for Verstappen with these temperatures?
- GPblog.com
The GP of Spain will be held in very warm conditions. These are the latest weather forecasts for this weekend. Will the heat help Max Verstappen for a second win in a row?
During the second Grand Prix at Silverstone Max Verstappen managed to secure his first victory of 2020. The Dutchman profited enormously from the warm conditions, which Mercedes couldn't control. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton drove around with the biggest blisters, where Verstappen's tyres were still in good condition.
Does Verstappen have an advantage in the heat?
Now that Pirelli is back in Spain with the hardest tyre, the question is whether Red Bull Racing still has this advantage. The Barcelona circuit is also slightly different from Silverstone, so to what extent will blisters play a role.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday the temperature in Barcelona will remain above thirty degrees. According to Spanish Formula 1 journalist Albert Fabrega, it rained for 15 minutes on Thursday, but for the rest of the day, it was only cloudy. Do these temperatures help Verstappen again to win or have Mercedes already solved the problem one week on?
