This weekend, Formula 1 will advance to Italy for the first of three races in the Southern European country this season. At Monza, Sebastian Vettel expects a surreal atmosphere, as the Tifosi is still not welcome at a Grand Prix.

No Tifosi

"Monza is one of the most famous Formula 1 tracks in the world. This season, racing at the Autodromo Nazionale will seem very strange, because without fans, there will be a surreal atmosphere", said Vettel in a preview of Ferrari. Monza will be one of the last races to be held completely behind closed doors. Some 3000 fans are expected at the Tuscany Grand Prix at Mugello.

Tricky weekend

Vettel says Ferrari knows that it will be a tough weekend, just like in Belgium a week ago. "Plus we come to Monza knowing it’s going to be tough to be a frontrunner this weekend", says the four-time world champion.

"The last race here was anything but straightforward for me and we are well aware that will also be the case this time. We have a specific aero package that we hope will make the SF1000 more competitive", said the German. He also says that the goal is the same as always: gain as many points as possible and get the most out of the car.
