Ocon is aiming for a battle with Red Bull: "We are coming!

Esteban Ocon gained a lot of confidence by beating Alexander Albon at the Belgian Grand Prix. In the final phase of the race at Spa-Francorchamps he managed to beat the RB16 and that, according to the Frenchman, is proof that Renault is getting better and better.
"During the race, fighting with Alex was great," Ocon writes in his column for Formula1.com. The 24-year-old driver caught up with Albon at the start. "Then he got me at the pit stop. They chose a different strategy and then we got him back on the last lap in the race. It was very satisfying to be fighting with Red Bull at this stage of the year. It means one thing… we’re coming!"
In the constructors' championship, Renault is engaged in a fierce battle with Racing Point and McLaren for third place, but Ocon secretly hopes to fight Red Bull more often in 2020. The start of the season was difficult for Cyril Abiteboul's team, but progress is clear to see. Nice points were also scored at Monza and Mugello thanks to good finishes.
Renault hopes for a strong weekend in Russia
The upcoming Grand Prix will be held at the Sochi circuit. The teams only got a week's rest from Formula 1. "There’s no time to rest too much. The races are coming quickly this year but, since the calendar was announced, we knew it was going to be very fast-paced and a huge mental challenge more than anything. We head to Russia feeling determined and, beyond that, we’ll keep doing our best for strong performances and to put on a show for the fans!"
