According to the BBC, Stefano Domenicali will be the new boss of Formula 1. The former Ferrari team boss will succeed Chase Carey as of next year. Formula 1 has not yet officially confirmed the announcement.
According to the BBC, the appointment of the 55-year-old Domenicali has not yet been announced by the Formula 1 or Liberty Media, but has been confirmed to the English medium by various sources. A spokesman for Formula 1 did not answer any questions from the BBC, but it would already have been communicated to all teams.
Domenicali left Ferrari in 2014 and is currently working for another Italian car brand: Lamborghini. The Italian was team boss at the Scuderia from 2008 to 2014, succeeding Jean Todt. Under Domenicali, the Italian raceteam won his last manufacturer title in 2008.
