Marko laughs at statements: 'We don't care about Wolff's motivation'

The new Concorde Agreement is completely in line with Red Bull Racing's wishes. While Toto Wolff had a few comments on the new agreement, Helmut Marko is clearly enthusiastic about the working method of Liberty Media.
Red Bull goes against Mercedes
It was Mercedes that was the last to sign the Concorde Agreement. Mercedes is also the team whose future is in most doubt and Toto Wolff's comments on the Concorde Agreement do not reduce those rumours. Wolff saw an advantage for Red Bull and Ferrari in the new agreement, but Marko does not want to know about it.
''We don't care what Toto's motivation is. We have two teams and a circuit and we have our own interests. We have protected them well and what is important to us is in the Concorde Agreement. For example, it's important that we can terminate it annually, as Honda's contract runs until the end of 2021,'' says Marko to Motorsport-total.com.
The advantage of Ferrari
According to Marko, the budget cap is the toughest measure for Red Bull, but they can solve it cleverly. ''That rule is crucial because it costs us money. What we can spend less at Red Bull, however, we will put in AlphaTauri so that we can balance that more. In addition, the ideal is that we no longer need unanimity when it comes to implementing a rule," says the Austrian, pointing to the moment when Mercedes in Austria refused to agree to the reversed grid qualification.
The fact that Ferrari still has an advantage in the new regulations is entirely understandable, according to Marko. Where Wolff expressed his dissatisfaction, Marko praised the Italian brand. ''Ferrari is Ferrari. Ask a young boy what a racing car is and he calls Ferrari. That is a fact we all have to accept,'' concludes the Red Bull top man.
