GP Russia result: Verstappen again P2, while Hamilton has a difficult afternoon
Valtteri Bottas wasn't happy with his disappointing qualifying on Sunday, but during the Russian Grand Prix, the Finn still managed to control the race. Max Verstappen claimed another podium.
There was a lot to talk after Lewis Hamilton did a practice start outside the designated area. Pole position was not taken away from the Brit, but soon in the race the Mercedes driver was told that he had a ten-second time penalty for his actions. Hamilton managed to get on the podium, but could not prevent Bottas from easily winning, followed by a satisfied Max Verstappen.
While it was fairly quiet at the front, there was a lot of fighting in the midfield. That immediately caused Lance Stroll to retire in the first lap, while teammate Sergio Perez managed to take P4 in a clever way. The Racing Point was followed by Daniel Ricciardo, who again had a good afternoon, as well as Pierre Gasly. Alexander Albon eventually managed to finish in the points, but will not be satisfied with his performance in Russia
