Hamilton lashes out: 'Nobody gets such a punishment for something so ridiculous'
Lewis Hamilton isn't pleased with the decision made by the FIA race management who gave him two time penalties. The six-time world champion states that he has done this many times before and has never been punished for 'something so ridiculous'.
"I have to look back and see what the rules are. I have to see what exactly I did wrong," Hamilton said in front of the Sky Sports camera. The Mercedes driver does not know why he received a ten-second penalty. "I'm pretty sure no one has been given two five-second penalties before for something so ridiculous."
Hamilton doesn't get it
The 35-year-old Briton does not hide his opinion and the stewards have to endure too much. "I didn't put anyone in danger, I've done this on a million tracks and never had any questions. But it is what it is. Of course, it is ... they trying to stop me. I just have to keep my head down and see what happens," he says.
Hamilton talks about the tyres. "I wanted to go on longer. I think I did pretty well on that soft tyre," he says of the significant disadvantage he had in not being able to start on the mediums like Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen could.
