Power Rankings: Fight with Verstappen is back on after mistake Hamilton
- GPblog.com
Lewis Hamilton's test starts, which eventually earned him a double time penalty, are still an important topic of discussion in the week after the Russian Grand Prix. Also in the Power Rankings of Formula1.com the Mercedes driver is losing a lot of ground.
The jury there charges Hamilton quite heavily for his mistake. We do not see the world champion back in the top ten. The panel also takes into account the fact that Hamilton did not pose any threat to Max Verstappen's second place after his pit stop.
Verstappen gets the highest score
The same Verstappen, on the other hand, is richly rewarded for his excellent performance in both qualifying and the race. In a car that was anything but top class, he convincingly managed to secure second place with a score of 9.4, the highest score of the week. He remains ahead of Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, both with a score of 9.2.
Besides Hamilton, Alexander Albon also loses a lot of ground. For his tenth place in the GP of Russia he gets a 5.2 and thus falls outside the top ten in the general classification of the Power Rankings. Daniil Kvyat takes over that place with a neat 8.8.
At the top of the rankings, thanks to this week's scores, the ranking is again very exciting. Hamilton still keeps the lead, but sees Verstappen approaching to one point.
