The pit lane at Portimao has caused a lot of discussion within the F1 paddock. After a discussion on Friday evening at the drivers briefing, the FIA has made adjustments to the pit lane exit, but the drivers still expect dangerous situations to arise.

The problem is that drivers are unable to build up enough speed for the first few fast corners. As a result, they could be a danger to the rest of the field. That is why the pit lane has been slightly modified so that the drivers can build up more speed. It can still be dangerous, according to Daniel Ricciardo.

Pit exit temporary solution

"Yesterday they made it a little easier for us to come back, but it is a temporary solution. They've made it easier for us to get to the track earlier, but it's not the best pit exit," explained the Australian to Motorsport .com. His team mate Esteban Ocon is expecting action around the exit of the pit lane during the race. "If you get out of the pits and are fighting with another driver, it is going to be difficult to keep the spot."

"Your line is enormously compressed, which means you have to be much sharper in steering the drivers who are driving on the ideal line. It is certainly going to be difficult."
