Final starting grid for the Portuguese GP: Hamilton on pole, Bottas P2

For the first time in the history of Formula 1, the circuit OF Portimao is on the calendar. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the Portuguese circuit got a spot and today the Portuguese Grand Prix is held at Portimao. 

The starting grid looked like it could have changed after qualifying on Saturday because of drivers who were still being investigated by the FIA, but in the end no penalties were handed out. This means that Lewis Hamilton will start from pole position, with his teammate Valtteri Bottas next to him in second. Behind Hamilton is Max Verstappen, who has to watch out for Charles Leclerc, who will start from P4 on the circuit. Sergio Perez starts from fifth place and Alexander Albon starts his hunt for a good result from P6. 

Vettel eleven places behind teammate

Sebastian Vettel will start in 15th place, eleven places behind his teammate. The German of Ferrari also has to start behind George Russell, who, thanks to a strong qualifying session, is will start from 14th. In the top ten behind Albon are the two McLaren drivers Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo. Esteban Ocon will start from 11th place and will hunt for points on fresh tyres.
