Marko: "Even after Imola we won't make a decision about Albon"

The pressure on Alexander Albon has been increasing with each passing week. According to many, his exit from Red Bull Racing is almost certain, but the team continue to give him time. However, they have admitted a decision could be made soon.
More time for Albon
Helmut Marko has indicated that Albon still has two or three races to prove himself and that no decision will be made after Imola.
"Even after Imola, we won't make a decision about Albon. We'll give him more time," Marko said in an interview with Motorsport-Total.com. Still, it's no secret that Red Bull are also looking at other drivers. "There are some good people on the market, and after Mercedes we still have the most interesting car to give away."
Marko also confirmed this to the German RTL: "If it is certain that Albon cannot live up to expectations, we will approach other candidates and make an appropriate decision. We are already carefully analyzing this."
In the meantime, there has been a lot of talk about who could replace Albon. Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez have been linked with a possible drive. Christian Horner has no worries about delaying a decision, even with other teams lurking for a signature.
"I think each of these drivers would prefer Red Bull to all the other teams, so I assume they'll wait and see what we decide," said the Red Bull team boss.
