Albon doubts strategic choice: "With hindsight, maybe we should do something else"

Alexander Albon spun from a position in the top five at the end of the race. This happened because he was trying to defend his position on old tyres compared to drivers on new rubber. Afterward, he wondered if it was the right choice to stay out.
"Finishing last doesn't really show what happened during the race. It was tough and it was one of those races where we spent a lot of time in a train behind other cars," says Albon in retrospect from Red Bull Racing, who was only able to make up positions during the safety car. At the restart, however, he suddenly had some fast drivers behind him.
Pit stop might have been better after all
"It all happened so fast. With hindsight, we might have had to do something else, but it was a difficult choice. If we had gone in for soft tyres towards the end like the others we might have had a much better result."
Albon says he is now going to focus on the race in Turkey and is trying to see last weekend as positive as possible. The car already felt a lot better than Saturday.
