Constructor Championship: Mercedes world champion, midfield even closer together
- GPblog.com
It was clear that Mercedes would win the constructor title. The one-two victory of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas was a great way to win a historic world title. Mercedes is now unstoppable. Behind it, it's all the more exciting.
The first two positions have been determined with Red Bull Racing, whose second place is not in jeopardy despite their zero score, but the fight for third place is where the battle intensifies. This is now more exciting than ever, and that's no exaggeration. Renault have a one-point lead on both McLaren and Racing Point with 135 points.
Ferrari not yet out of contention
Due to the good results of Daniil Kvyat and Charles Leclerc, Ferrari and AlphaTauri are also still holding on, although their chances of making it to the top five are getting smaller and smaller.
At the very back, Williams are still on zero points. George Russell was in a position to change that, but made a mistake of his own, extending his own record of pointless racing.
