Lance Stroll was on the podium at the Italian Grand Prix, but has not scored a point since for Racing Point. According to Andrew Green, the Canadian has been mentally and physically affected by the coronavirus.

At Monza, Stroll scored another podium (although he threw away a certain victory with his mistakes at the restart), but since then the Canadian hasn't taken another point. Three times he has failed to finish, at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix the speed was not there and in between came the coronavirus. According to Green, Stroll is not in good shape.

Stroll is in bad shape

''He is clearly not at his level before his illness and we simply see a lack of confidence. We need to help him get back to his level, because it is clear that the disease has made him weaker. We knew it would take some time for him to recover, but maybe we underestimated that," said the technical director of Racing Point according to Speedweek.com.

''He needs to be able to believe in himself again. He is physically and mentally damaged and that actually started with that nasty crash in Mugello. That caused you to have less confidence in yourself and then there's the race he couldn't drive. However, Stroll now needs warmth from us. We know what he can do, but he's just going through a tough period now," concluded Green.
